God's Law-v-Man's law
When looking at world religions it can get quite confusing if we don't have the proper perspective.
Who do we listen too is a very difficult thing to grasp. But if we understand how religion works and that God has commanded us to listen to Him over any man the rest is easy to see.
Look at Colossians 2:20-23;
“You have died with Christ, and he has set you free from the spiritual powers of this world. So why do you keep on following the rules of the world, such as, "Don't handle! Don't taste! Don't touch!"? Such rules are mere human teachings about things that deteriorate as we use them. These rules may seem wise because they require strong devotion, pious self-denial, and severe bodily discipline. However, they provide no help in conquering a person's evil desires.”
The underlined section above states that keeping religious rules may seem wise because they require strong devotion and self-denial ect… but they are no good at conquering or overcoming your evil desires.
What this basically means is if religious acts are what you are counting on for your salvation then you are not truly saved or have eternal life. The proof of this, is you will still struggle with your evil desires.
Maybe you don’t struggle with sins like murder but how about the rest of what Jesus commanded. Such as, (coveting) wanting something that is not yours, making disciples, lust, anger, or gossip. Think of your own life and how you compare. I’m not saying by keeping those laws it will guarantee your entrance into Heaven, but it definitely is proof of where you stand with God.
Look at Galatians 5 and notice how he points out what our evil desires are and it lets us know that we will not go to Heaven if we are practicing these things. For a long time I didn't understand why God would say these things. I now understand! This is what we will be explaining in the Which Religion section.
First here is the number one reason God tells us we have so many religions.
Jesus said in Matthew 15:8-9
"These people draw near to Me with their mouth,
And honor Me with their lips,
But their heart is far from Me.
And in vain they worship Me,
Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.'"
The above statement truer now than ever in history!
Repeatedly the bible strictly warns of listening to any person, regardless of status, over the bible. Any person even if they claim to be sent from God should not be taken over the scriptures. Most religions of the world have their own prophets or teachers that say no one else is correct except them. However, God says in His word to obey the Bible over people not the other way around.
That is because God does not want you to be fooled. Eternal life is forever and to be cast into hell because you listened to some mere person such as a Pastor or Priest over the bible is foolish. That is why I encourage you to check this out for yourself.
Jesus said in Mark 7 that people lay aside what God has said in order to keep there traditions. That is scary how someone just because of tradition or personal bias is willing to spend eternity away from God in Hell.
Think about it for a moment, every religion in the world says you must obey their commands and their teachings, or you will not have eternal life or enlightenment. Except one, which really isn’t a religion at all?
