World Religion beliefs

Think about it for a moment, every religion in the world says you must obey their commands and their teachings, or you will not have eternal life or enlightenment. Except one, which really isn’t a religion at all?

Before we get into what religions teach here is my story and why I started to search for the truth.

Growing up as a boy was very hard for me and quite confusing. I was raised Lutheran and slightly Catholic so to my understanding on the issue of religion was that there are virtually only two sides to the coin of religion. There are the Catholics and there are those called the Protestants. I was taught that they are contrary to one another; both sides claiming to be correct. I have found some interesting things, since I was young, and I would like for all of you reading this to take this into strong consideration. Your eternity with God does depend on it.

If we were to study every single religion in great detail it would take more than one lifetime to study then explain it. Therefore, we will give you a brief explanation of how each religion mentioned believes in eternal life.

If you look at all the religions of the world they can be summed up very simply into one category. They all require a person to obtain some type of wisdom, spirituality or eternal life by doing some type of deed/deeds or good works or adhering to their beliefs. Look at what the bible says about religious practices that are commanded by people to people.

We will look at the bible for our source of truth since that truly is God’s word as discussed in the God’s word section.

Here are some larger religions, and what they believe. Read them and you should start to see a pattern. You will notice that they all have one thing in common. They all teach about how you need to keep or practice their religious beliefs in order to have eternal life, which is all contrary to what God has taught us. Scan through these religions so you have an understanding how all religions are set up quite similar, especially in matters of eternity.

Mormonism teaches that first you must be 8 yrs. of age then you can be baptized with water by a Mormon leader which you then become a member of the Mormon Church. If you adhere to the Mormon and biblical commands until the end of your life you will be saved. Anyone who does not do or believe these things will go to hell. They believe that the bible is God’s word, along with their own bible.

The Catholic religion states that a person must be baptized and regularly go to their services and take communion. They believe that by the Priest praying for the communion elements, they become the actual body and blood of Jesus. Plus praying certain prayers to certain people who are no longer living also help in the process of being saved from their sins. They believe by these acts a person’s sins are forgiven. They also believe that anyone who does not practice these or comes against these teachings is going to hell. They believe the bible is God’s word.

Islam has six “pillars” or beliefs a person must adhere to in order to be a Muslim. Before someone is considered to be a Muslim, they must recite a certain saying called shahada. Some of their beliefs state that every Polytheist will go to Hell. A person must believe in all their prophets, one must proclaim Allah as the one true God, and all worship must be to Allah alone, or it is an unforgivable sin. Only a person who dies a martyr’s death as a Muslim (suicide martyr or murdered martyr) is guaranteed entrance into paradise.

Lutherans believe "baptism works forgiveness of sins, rescues from death and the devil, and gives eternal salvation to all who believe this, as the words and promises of God declare”(As stated in their doctrinal statement). Most Lutherans get baptized as a baby in order to secure their place in Heaven. That is why they believe the act of baptism and a combination of the word of God actually saves them from their sin.

Hinduism Teaches that there really isn’t true life after death but only reincarnation. Who you are reincarnated into is determined by two basic different teachings; one is karma, which states that a force is generated by a person’s action. Dharma is a set of moral or religious laws grouped according to class, status, and station in life that a person should follow. So if your dharma is a lower class citizen (untouchable) you should act like a lower class citizen. Plus you will forever be an untouchable. If you are an untouchable you can only interact on a minor level with higher castes.

(Evolutionist) Atheism, Secular, and Agnostic religionsteach that either that there really isn’t a God, or you can’t possibly know Him. True adherers seek to gain knowledge to prove their position or belief. They either believe there isn’t life after death or a person can’t know for sure about life after death. True adherents believe that all non-conformists are unintelligent, which is proven by their deep anger towards them. Furthermore, true adherents believe there are no moral absolutes, which means that there isn’t any true right or wrong. More on this in the three evolution tabs.

If you look at these religions you will notice that all of them in one way or another have a system set up so that the adherers of that particular faith have some type of guidlines or works they should do in order to become "saved" or "enlightened".

The probelem with all of these is they do not get rid of your evil desires as Biblical Christianity does.

In the next section we will discuss how God gets rid of our sin. As the Bible states!
